Call from the Lord

If there in any one person that I can call a lifetime "best-friend" (other than my husband) it is my little brother. Tyler has helped me through everything and I in turn like to think I taught him how to be a man--- :). He is so much of my life I can not imagine it without him. He is the youngest, and most defiantly spoiled, he will even tell you how much he loves being spoiled. This last week he received mail... important mail....mail that will dictate the next two years of his life. I once received the same mail I remember the day VIVIDLY, it changed my life as I know it will change his.

IT CAME BABY!!!
Reading the location of his mission...
As Tyler read his letter aloud my mothers breathing got louder and slower. The the words "You are hereby called to serve in the Kenya Nairobi Mission" suddenly my mothers breathing changed to a repeated "oh no." Tyler read on, it was not much longer when he looked up and said "wait this is in Africa?" I still laugh when I think of that. All of my siblings were on Skype so it truly was a family affair-- a special moment for our little Tyler all grown up and moving 10,000 miles away.... where he will be the only white person.... did I mention there are countries like Rwanda and Sudan in his mission? I can not WAIT to hear his stories and see the real man that he becomes--the Lord does a much better job at that then I do.
She cried--- I don't think she cried when I opened my call...

wow!!! I smiled when I saw on FB where he was going - yup, he will be the only white man, blond and blue eyes (does he have blue eyes?):) HE WILL BE AMAZING! ps - when does he go into the MTC? oh, and don't tell him this, but I had a buddy (who was a football player and was buff like Tyler) go there, and after eating beans and fruit for two years, came back a twig. A twig! :) he's gonna love it! and he will be a fantastic missionary!

This is so crazy and so perfect to me all at the same time. Did you know that basically everyone else in our extended fam has gone either state-side or English speaking? And Tyler goes to Africa. Of course TYLER goes there! My Dad would have passed out cold. Bless your mom! We are so proud of him! (And her...!) Loves!

Ah, I'm jealous of all the stories you'll hear, you will have to share; Africa will be so awesome. I love that he didn't know where it was. I can totally relate!
