It is time

This last week I had the chance to help a most beloved sister. After a few days of holding her, crying with her and trying to feed her. I left, I cried as I left because I didn't want to leave her in so much pain. I wanted to stay, to be her strength and help her soul heal. But I suppose it was time for me to leave. I have learned a lot from my sister and this last week she taught me that sometimes you need support, and as hard as it is to tell people what is going on-- when you need people to support you they have to know at least a little about what is going on.

So I have decided it is time. Time to tell that this week I have surgery. A total thyroidextomy(sp?). After over ten years of problems, it is time to removed my growing goiter.There are many reasons that it needs to come out but I will not bore you with the details. Do you think that they will let me keep it. As a  5 year old I had my tonsils and adnoids removed which I kept (in a sealed jar).... until I married Adam (folks that is more then 20 years), he thought it was to weird to keep them around. Looking back it was weird..... Nonetheless I will probably ask if I can keep my thyroid. I think it would be the BEST show and tell EVER! :) I will have a short hospital stay, minimum of one night. Then I have to be back up and going.


In case you do not know what a Thyroid is this picture shows you what a normal one looks like, mine is far from normal so it is deformed, larger (goiter) and it is starting to calcify (that is not a good sign).

There is not much people can do to help me, but prayers are welcome because there is a lot that the Lord can do to help me and my sweet family.

Once I get back on my feet I hope to venture down to Vegas again to hold, cry, and be with my sweet sister.
